Well, I'm halfway to elated, so, ridiculously happy I guess works right now.

I just recieved the first of two deliveries of books.

What books you might ask? Well, nothing less than the entire Pern series, by Anne McCaffrey.

I've recieved 11 of 19 books (unfortunately, this shipment didn't have the next book in the series I was going to read, so I have to wait for the other lot to arrive).

But yeah, more than half of the series is now in my hands, with the rest soon to follow.

*dances*

And on that note, to bed with me before I pick one up to read and get no sleep.

So, I was on my way to my game this afternoon, when a woman decided to drive out in front of me from a side street (which, funnily enough was marked with a STOP sign).

Long story short, I'm going to the doctor's tomorrow, insurance company is being contacted after doctor's appointment, car is pretty much guaranteed to be written off.

For more info, just ask and I'll let you know in a more private fashion (not that many people actually read this).

Your home is a

Gamer's Manor

Your kitchen is stocked with chips, dips, and assorted caffeinated beverages. There's a pantry with emergency backup caffeinated beverages. You also have some breakfast cereals in there, but you haven't had breakfast since last Spring. Your master bedroom has blankets printed with images of Mario and Link. Your study includes unread copies of various gamer magazines, each purchased for the free demo CDs. One of your garages holds your collection of ferraris, and is measured in acreage.

Your home also includes a wine cellar, which you've partially stocked with Martinelli's Sparkling Cider for when your Mormon friends come over. Your guests enjoy your collection of every console and associated game ever made. Except the Intellivision -- those controllers drive them NUTS. Outside is your hedge maze and gardens, meticulously tended by a team of world-class botanists.

Below is a snippet of the blueprints:

Your Score: The Grizzly Bear

Here's your results! Your spirit animal has a Nobility ranking of 14 out of 18.

Your spirit animal is the Grizzly Bear. No other spirit animal matches it's size and strength. This creature is among the noblest and most respectable, and you are truly fortunate. It is both fearsome and awesome to behold. It will serve you well, and shows that you have a deeper understanding than most. It is quite rare indeed to have a Grizzly as a spirit animal!

Step 1: Put your iTunes or equivalent on random.
Step 2: Post the first line from the first fifty songs that play, no matter how embarassing.
Step 3: Bold the songs and artist when someone guesses correctly.
Step 4: Looking them up on Google or any other search engine is CHEATING!

Yeah, again, it's been a while. I just forget to update my journal.

That or I'm just lazy. You can figure out which it is at any given moment.

Well, I spotted the depression test, and thought I'd give it a burl to see how it stands up against a professional's judgement.

About this Entry
Oct. 19th, 2006 @ 10:41 pm Hey, an update!
Well, two parts to this update.

The first is general news.

My internet is fixed, I have finally dealt with all of my old debts, and am in the clear, and basically, really getting back into the swing of enjoying life.

The next is WoW news, which I'll cut for all the people that couldn't care less (you know who you are, and shame on you).

Well, it's 8:30am, I'm tired, and well, sitting here typing isn't getting me the sleep I want, so ...

About this Entry
Oct. 6th, 2006 @ 01:30 am Good news, bad news
Well, as the title suggest, good news and bad news time.

First up, the good news. I finally got the money to have a central splitter installed, and had said central splitter installed.
Secondly, well, the phones are nice and clear now.

Yup, that was the good news.

Bad news time. Firstly, The disconnects still occur. This is even with ALL of the wiring from the network boundary point replaced, and the central splitter installed. This means it is an external fault. Y'know, the thing I'd said it was from the very beginning of this saga.

This means that I have to deal with the waiting lines to actually talk to a technician. THEN I have to wait for Internode to get Telstra off their arse and fix the problem which SHOULDN'T HAVE EVER BEEN THERE IN THE FIRST PLACE!!!

In short, I'm now out of pocket a lot of money that I didn't need to be.

This makes me just a tad pissed off, and resigned in the knowledge that the telecommunications network infrastructure is really up shit creek.

Ah, I thought I had more to say, but if I did, I've forgotten it now. And I'm none too happy, and I need to get ready for work.

Ah, fuck this, I've been on hold now, without having spoken to a human being since I called nearly 30 minutes ago. They will get called back when I get home from work, and I doubt I'll be any happier about the situation then.
